The spring is the small but vital component that pushes the spindle lock pin back out of the gear after you release the lock, ensuring the pad can spin freely once again.
With time and heavy use, the original spring can weaken, lose tension or become damaged, leaving the lock slow to release or unreliable in operation.
Fitting the POL05-18 spring restores the correct return force on the lock pin so the spindle locks positively when you need it – and releases cleanly when you are ready to get back to polishing.
