In an air ratchet, shafts and axles are the quiet heroes—keeping moving parts aligned so gears mesh correctly and torque flows where it should. The AirCraft AT0016-25 Bias Axle is a replacement axle/shaft used in the AirCraft Air Ratchet Wrench (AT0016 series) mechanism. It provides a stable support and pivot/drive axis for associated components in the gear or ratchet section, helping maintain correct positioning and smooth movement under load. If an axle is worn, bent, scored or loose at its seating points, the tool can develop play, rough engagement, noise and accelerated wear. Replacing the bias axle restores proper alignment and helps the whole mechanism feel tighter and more dependable.
Axles and drive shafts control the geometry of moving assemblies. Keeping them straight and properly supported reduces backlash and prevents uneven wear on gears, sleeves and housings—especially in high-use workshop tools.
